Another Book Give Away - Let's explore!

I have been sitting idle for a while on the whole book contest/give away idea mainly because so many people just email me "hey, I'll take a free book." The point of the contest is to learn more about books and reading right!? With that said, I don't really want to hear that you will accept a free book. I am sure that lots of people would take a free book. All of that said, let's try another book give away for Fall. Here is the requirement:

I want to hear about what you read this summer. It does not have to be fiction, Christian, or even a book. Perhaps you read a great magazine article. Share you favorite read from this summer and why. I am going to review all the posts and emails and pick a winner based on what they share. Truly, I look forward to hearing your stories. This is how I learn about great reads myself. Enjoy! OK, be prepared to be bored because although I read I am thinking you may have told me about half the books. ;) I read From innocenc to entitlement. I read Have a new kid by Friday. I readl ots of health books like Adreanal Fatigue, Inflammation Syndrom. I read the New Strong Willed Child. See a pattern here yet? :)I know these dont count as books but I read these magazines every month as well. Vegetarian Times, and Living Without. As you know I am border line obsessed with how to eat right and learn new ways to cook that way that is enjoyable for my family and friends. I also want to fine ways to parent the sain way so I read on those two things mostly. :) Cute idea about the book give away. I LOVE TO READ! I dont care if I win or not but not knowing the title of the book is killing me girl! :)

I just finished reading "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. It's about the tenth time I've read it and I always seem to get more out of it.

Hi there! So twitter CAN work! Thanks for tweeting about this. I am an avid reader. I've read lots of books lately, but I'll pick just one.

Rich Church, Poor Church by John Muratori is thought-provoking and full of wisdom. Muratori is a pastor as well as a recognized authority on organizational management and strategic planning for businesses and ministries. I thought his discourse on the Jewish culture was most enlightening. Despite centuries of persecution, almost to the point of extinction, the Jewish people have always grown to be prosperous and influential in every country they’ve settled in. The author goes into great detail about their adherence to the teachings of the Talmud and their unwavering emphasis on education (historically for both males and females ) and God's money management principles.

I was challenged and intrigued by this book and highly recommend it. Despite the weighty topic, it's extremely well-written and is enjoyable to read.

I am not currently reviewing a book/author or even reading Christian fiction at the moment. It is an interesting break from the normal and I am enjoying selecting the titles right now. Since I rarely read in the secular market it is often difficult for me to find authors that are enjoyable or to my tastes. In May or perhaps early of this year I was lent a copy of Twilight by Stephanie Meyers . Wait! Hold on! If you are completely rolling your eyes at this point and believe that I have joined the teen band wagon let me get just a few words in edgewise here. Thank you. Where do you see us in say 15-20 years? Common point that most people with a five year plan at least consider. Dare say, though, that you probably postulate that many of the lifestyles you have now will be the same. Think so? In past posts I talked about the unknown and how if we are truly honest with ourselves we know that there is a great deal we don't "know." Thinking about that unknown is not something we often don't like to do. Why? Because it can be scary. We like control - we like certainty (to a point) and we like answers. Yes, that build-up means that I have another book for you to read that will challenge you to think differently about what our world could be like in the future. Will you be in the same SES class?
