The final Book Give Away for 2009

A year of superb reads and yes, those that will grace our "to read later" pile into 2010. Still looking back we see some great works such as "The Shack" by William Young, Mindy Starns Clark wrote some really fun singles, Melody Carlson kept them coming over and over again, Karen Hancock's "Enclave" was a must read, Sigmund's "Broken Angel" - superb, and even Jeffery Overstreets fantasy series was a plus. Surely, you had many on your list this year as well.

Let's close out 2009 with a book give away. Share you favorite book from 2009 here and during the first week of 2010 a winner will be selected.

I am not currently reviewing a book/author or even reading Christian fiction at the moment. It is an interesting break from the normal and I am enjoying selecting the titles right now. Since I rarely read in the secular market it is often difficult for me to find authors that are enjoyable or to my tastes. In May or perhaps early of this year I was lent a copy of Twilight by Stephanie Meyers . Wait! Hold on! If you are completely rolling your eyes at this point and believe that I have joined the teen band wagon let me get just a few words in edgewise here. Thank you. As I was saying, I was lent a copy of Twilight a while back. I had no real desire to read it because, as you, I had no desire to join the throng of teens and even pre-teens obsessing over this book/saga. The copy I had received was at the top of my "to read later" pile, so I picked it up and turned to page one. Please understand that I am not a fan of Vampires or even that sort of thriller market. Another Book Give Away - Let's explore!

I have been sitting idle for a while on the whole book contest/give away idea mainly because so many people just email me "hey, I'll take a free book." The point of the contest is to learn more about books and reading right!? With that said, I don't really want to hear that you will accept a free book. I am sure that lots of people would take a free book. All of that said, let's try another book give away for Fall. Here is the requirement: I want to hear about what you read this summer. It does not have to be fiction, Christian, or even a book. Perhaps you read a great magazine article. Share you favorite read from this summer and why. I am going to review all the posts and emails and pick a winner based on what they share. Truly, I look forward to hearing your stories. This is how I learn about great reads myself. Enjoy!
